Rates vary by service and clinician. Fees are discussed prior to your first appointment. In general you can expect office visits to range from $90 - $150 per session.
One of the first things people ask when they call to make an appointment is "Do you take my insurance?" So...a quick note on the differences between accepting or 'taking' insurance, being in-network and being out of network.
If a provider (doctor, therapist, dentist etc) is in-network it means they have signed a contract with the insurance company, agreeing to a number of things determined by the insurance company. This may include what information is shared, compensation for services, how long or how many sessions you can have, what is and is not allowed in the course of treatment (regardless of what the provider determines is necessary,) etc. It's important to know that often the rules made by insurance are not made by individuals with medical or clinical expertise and/or real world experience.
A provider that is out-of-network does not have a contract with the insurance company. They can still see clients or patients with that insurance, but are not limited to the rules set by insurance. Out of network providers have more flexibility in treatment decisions, how your information is shared etc.
Generally both in-network and out-of-network providers can 'take' or accept most insurance plans. So what's the difference for the client or patient? The difference is in the benefits. Most plans have two sets of benefits - one for participating, or in-network providers and one for non-participating, or out-of-network providers. Plans vary, so it's impossible to give specific information on what those differences are, but we can help you with finding out.
If you have more than one plan....
If you have multiple plans, one is considered primary, and one is secondary. The secondary plan will often cover fees that the primary didn't cover, such as co-pays and/or coinsurance. It is important that you make sure to tell your provider if you have more than one plan. To avoid the insurance company taking back money paid out for services, all claims MUST go through your primary plan first before being submitted to the secondary.
Unfortunately we have to relay what all insurance companies tell us- that any quoted benefits are not a guarantee of payment. When we check on benefits for you they may tell us one thing and then do something else. Ultimately if insurance does not pay for services rendered, you are responsible. The good news is that in our experience, it is something that happens very infrequently.
Where do we at Inner Connections stand?
All clinicians at Inner Connections, LLC participate in-network with State of CT insurance (Husky A,B,C & D.) All clinicians at Inner Connections also accept any commercial insurance plans. In addition Marc Nee, LMFT is currently in-network with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Unfortunately due to Medicare policy, as Marriage and Family Therapists, we are unable to accept Medicare.
What do I need to ask about my plan?
We are happy to inquire about your plan benefits for you, but if you would like to find out for yourself, please check your coverage carefully by first specifying what you are inquiring about - in or out of network benefits, and then asking the following questions:
Do I have outpatient behavioral health benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the amount covered per therapy session and what am I responsible for?
*If you are unsure and need assistance understanding your insurance benefits, we can help you find out what benefits you are entitled to.
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.
Cash and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.
